Living now, here but for fortune, Placed by fate's mysterious schemes, Who'd believe that we're the ones asked To try to rekindle the patriots' dreams? (Arlo Guthrie)
Welcome to yet another minor example of Internet-based vanity, my home page.
Note: this is the latest version of my original home page, set up on the old "pubpages" web server, which I ran for a time at the University Near Here. You will note that it's very old fashioned, but (trust me) it was in keeping with the early-web fashions of the time. Left up for sentimental/historical interest.
I hope you find whatever it is you're looking for here. If you don't, and you think you should have been able to, or if you notice broken links, please let me know.
(Ha! Retired as of July 1, 2016.)

Retired. So I got a dog!
[Sigh: Barney died on July 14, 2025; my pal and I were together for nearly nine years.]
If you're interested (although I can't think of a single reason you would be), I've kept track of the books I've read since 2003 and the movies I've watched since 2004. You can also peruse my CD collection and my DVD/Blu-ray collection.
And there's my blog.
Me with carp:
And my family:
(L to R: Brother-in-law Rick Kuhlman; sister Mary; nephew Aaron; some geezer, didn't get his name; my late wife Colette; daughter Rebecca; son Christopher)
… on social media anyway: Facebook · Twitter · Goodreads
The picture up at the top of the page was taken by (then) professional UNH photographer Doug Prince. That's probably as good as it gets, in other words.
The license plate GIF above was (um) borrowed years ago from Foster's Daily Democrat. Although it's long gone from their site, I keep expecting them to sue me, unless I (a) credit them and (b) remind them that I'm a loyal subscriber.
Well, I'm not actually a loyal subscriber. Used to be, though.
